The university is in the early stages of the development of an Inclusive Education Practice Policy, and we would like to invite students to take part in some conversations to help us co-design it.
The policy aims to give greater definition to our institutional expectations for inclusive educational practice. It stems from the commitments made in the university's Education Framework that: "Learning, teaching and assessment must be inclusive by design to ensure equity of experience for students."
An important principle for this work is that the normalising inclusive teaching and assessment is an essential feature of contemporary Higher Education. All students have the right to an equal opportunity to success regardless of their background, demographic characteristics, or current circumstances. To realise our ambition, we would like to learn from students to understand what matters most, drawing on your insights to shape and co-design the policy.
To do that we are setting up a series of focus group workshops in June. Whatever your prior experience, you have value to offer this work. So, we would very much welcome your involvement! Refreshments will be on offer at the in-person sessions.
If you are interested, register your participation and which workshop you would like to attend through the form here. You only need to attend one of the workshops.
Feel free to share with friends or anyone who may be interested!
The current dates and times of the workshops are as follows:
We hope to see you there!
Please Note: the form will also capture demographic data which will allow us to ensure the workshops reflects a broad range of views across the university. The information and data you provide below will only be used for activities relating directly to the workshops themselves.
