The initiative has been run for the past three years to help students struggling with the Cost of Living to ensure they are provided with at least one hot meal a week - delivered in partnership with Lancaster University.
Unfortunately, LUSU have been unable to secure funding for Supper Club for this term, at the time of publishing.
Ella, your Wellbeing Officer, said:
“We are disappointed to hear that the University have chosen to withdraw funds from Supper Club. LUSU will always fight for student wellbeing and will continue working with and lobbying the university to see what can be offered to support students in need going forwards. “
Since Welcome Week of 2022, Supper Club has dished out approximately 5000 meals for students, and LUSU is proud to have kept its students fed in times of hardship.
If you're struggling with the Cost of Living, please be aware that LUSU still operates the LUSU Pantry, with basic food supplies available on campus. For further support, you can also contact LUSU Advice - where you can get free and impartial guidance and support.
LUSU will continue to seek support for its students, and welcome discussions to resecure funding to offer students the Supper Club initiative again in the future.
