The Hot 8 Brass Band have become legendary in the music scene of New Orleans - a famed feature of the city’s flamboyant community and funeral parades.

 

 
Now they are on their ‘Big Tuba Tour’ and bringing their brand of funk-infused brass to The Sugarhouse, in Lancaster.
 
The Grammy-award winning band were formed in New Orleans more than 20 years ago and have since gained a worldwide following for their musical prowess and superlative live performances. They have featured in two Spike Lee documentaries. 
 
Before his untimely death at the age of 45, their band leader, Bennie Pete, was central to the recovery of the New Orleans community after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
 
They are at The Sugarhouse on August 2. Tickets cost £25 and doors open at 7pm. Tickets are onsale from 10AM on Friday 27th June and can be bought here.
