Say hello to our new Sports and Societies Committees for the year ahead!

These committees are made up of students from across campus who represent clubs and societies, making sure your voices are heard in the Students’ Union. They also send delegates to Union Assembly, where big decisions about student life are made.

So, what do they actually do?

The Sports Committee helps shape how sport runs at Lancaster – from day-to-day decisions that affect clubs, to bigger discussions on funding and facilities. They also make sure student feedback is listened to and have a big say in things like Sport Awards.

The Societies Committee oversees everything to do with societies. They decide which new societies can affiliate and handle funding allocations. They also play a big role in helping to plan Society Forums and shortlist for society awards.

In short – both committees are here to make sure student groups are supported and represented, and that the student voice drives how sport and societies develop on campus.
