Your new LUSU President, Rory, is no stranger to the inner workings of the Students’ Union. After various roles on the Furness JCR Exec as well as holding a Student Trustee role, Rory is keen to help students through ongoing times of change.
‘We’re currently going through a time of big change with the Curriculum Transformation Programme and a New Vice Chancellor, affording the opportunity to reframe student-university relations to put student needs first.’

Introducing your new Education Officer, Liz, a final year Politics, International Relations & Management student from Cartmel College. As President of the Kickboxing Society, Liz has developed key skills that give her the experience needed to advocate for students.
‘I believe that “If you want something done, do it yourself”. This is not for myself, but for stepping up, taking initiative and action. I care about you, whose education is of utmost importance at Lancaster University.’

Passionate about a number of wellbeing issues that students face, Leah is keen to tackle these issues head on in order to provide students with the experience they deserve while studying. For Leah, empowering students to lead their own initiatives is a key aspect of her role.
‘The student body should feel able to raise issues that matter to them to the Union and receive appropriate guidance and regular support to help them have a voice in their university experience.’
