With Chris Sanderson stepping down from their role, LUSU are looking for a new PGR FHASS Faculty Rep! 

 

 

We are inviting all FHASS PGR Academic Reps to express their interest!
 
What is a Faculty Rep? 

The main role of the PGR FHASS Faculty Rep is to represent the interests and ideas of PhD students within the faculty. While the core expectation is to bring forward perspectives that reflect your faculty’s needs, the role is flexible and can be shaped by your interests and availability. 

You will have the opportunity to attend committees within the faculty and central University and can engage with senior leadership within LUSU and your Faculty. 
You will also co-run the PhD Forum alongside other PGR Faculty reps from the other faculties -a social space where PhD students can connect with other PhD students from across the Lancaster University community. More information can be found here.

 

Current PhD Faculty Reps have: 

    •    Helped deliver sessions such as the ‘Community & Culture reading’ forum and the ‘Networking’ event. 
    •    Worked with the LUSU team to plan future forums and activities.  
    •    Taken the lead on creating new reading or community groups. 
    •    Led on initiatives which seek to improve the PhD experience – an example includes Chris’s recent campaigning work on PhD office and workspace within Bowland Annex. 

Throughout all of this, you’ll be supported throughout by the Students’ Union with the organisation of the forums. It’s a great opportunity to shape the PhD experience, build leadership skills, and connect with researchers across the university! 
 

How can I express my interest?

The deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 8th October. 

You must be a current PhD student who is currently an academic rep. Likewise, due to the nature of the role, you should be Lancaster campus based.
