It’s time to test your quizzing skills.
Test your knowledge and find out if you’re ready to represent Lancaster on University Challenge.
Last year, Lancaster Uni made it to the televised competition for the first time since 2019, with our team gracing TV screens in September earlier this year (you can watch the episode here!).
And now, it’s time to see if you’ve got what it takes too!
How it works
In order to find the perfect team ready to take on the challenge, we host a collection of entry exams.
These exams are split into specific subject areas just like the show, and you can choose to enter as many of the exams as you like. All you have to do is turn up and give it a go!
The exam dates are as follows:
Wednesday 5th November 18:00, Great Hall: Arts & Culture
Wednesday 5th November 18:45, Great Hall: Maths & Technology
Thursday 6th November 18:00, Great Hall: History & Geography
Thursday 6th November 18:45, Great Hall: Biological & Medical Sciences
Deciding the team
After our entry exams, the top two performing contestant from each subject will be invited to a live general knowledge final on Thursday 13th November, 18:00. The top four contestants from the live event will become our University Challenge team!
Anyone can join the entry competition – from first year undergrads to postgrad researchers. To audition for the University Challenge TV show, you must meet the eligibility criteria set out in the form below. If you do not meet the criteria or do not wish to be considered for the show, you can still take part in the selection tests for fun.
Entering is designed to be a fun, personal challenge. All students are encouraged to give it a try and see how they perform. You never know, you might just surprise yourself!
