Union Assembly meet twice every term to discuss and debate what matters to students; and decide on the future actions and policies of the Students’ Union.

It is made up of 51 senior leaders in the student community including Full Time Officers, Liberation & Campaign Officers, Society Leaders, Sport Leaders, Faculty Academic Representatives and College Presidents.

Any student has the right to attend and speak at a Union Assembly meeting but only the above members have the right to vote. You can read more about the Union Assembly here.

We are looking to appoint a Union Assembly Chair (and Deputy). These are paid positions and will last for six months. The successful candidate will be responsible for chairing upcoming Assembly meetings; ensuring all important matters are discussed, and that the diverse membership are all able to speak, debate, and vote equitably. The Deputy Chair will be available to support or replace the Chair where necessary.

Vice President Union Development, Harrison, said that "the role of Union Assembly Chair is a prestigious role that is crucial in facilitating discussion of ultimate importance in our Union, between some of our most influential student leaders. It is a fantastic way to contribute positively to Union democracy and help improve the lives of all students at Lancaster."

You can apply until Friday 3rd May via the Employment and Recruitment Service here.

Interviews will provisionally take place on Wednesday 8th May. If you have any questions, please email su.governance@lancaster.ac.uk.
