On Tuesday 25th November, voting opened for our Michaelmas Elections, giving you the opportunity to decide who would be the next College JCR and PG Board Executives, as well as Student Trustees.
And this year, we’ve had an amazing number of candidates nominate themselves for these roles. Excuse us while we drop a few stats.
Overall, across all 100 positions, we have had 151 candidates. That’s 151 students that have not only fully completed the nomination application (name, photo, manifesto and all), but have also attended Candidate Briefing, and have begun their campaigns. All of them competing for 121 overall seats.
That’s a lot of people to pick from, and a lot of seats to fill. But don’t worry, you don’t have to go through them all! Each student is eligible to vote for the JCR (or PG Board) of their respective college – everyone is eligible to vote for Student Trustees.
To ramp up the voting period, we’re adding a competitive twist: the College with the highest turnout will get 100 sausage rolls – really, what more could you want?
LUSU Green will also be planting a tree for every 20 people who vote. Last year, we reached out highest voter turnout yet. Can we beat it again?

Voting is still open and only closes at 6PM tomorrow, Thursday 27th November at www.lancastersu.co.uk/vote.
So, what are you waiting for? Get voting!
