What is the Sustainability Competition?
The Sports, Societies & Colleges Sustainability Competition is a new and exciting initiative open to all Lancaster University Students’ Union-affiliated clubs, societies & college JCR’s Groups earn points by running sustainability-themed events and campaigns. This could include anything from tree planting to promoting equality.
Each activity earns points, verified by LUSU Green, with clubs ranked monthly on a public leader board, visible on the LUSU Green Instagram
Why the competition?
Climate change and biodiversity loss are among the biggest challenges facing our planet. However, by making small, meaningful changes in how we travel, eat, fundraise, and run our clubs, we can make a real difference.
How can you win?
The competition is broken down into 7 themes, with 1 open category to reward positive work that is done outside the scope of these themes:
Each of these themes are incredibly important in tackling the climate crisis and biodiversity loss. Within each theme, there are different actions we have set which you can do to win points to your total. The number of points you receive will be determined by LUSU Green.
The more points you win, the more points that will be awarded to your total, and the greater chance you will have to win.
